With the beautiful backdrop of the Saratoga Passage, the Gazebo area is available to rent year-round for special events.

With its peaceful ambiance and stunning photo backdrops, Meerkerk Gardens provides a beautiful location for outdoor ceremonies and celebrations.

Event attendees are encouraged to enjoy the gardens and woodland trails before or after the event.

Below are our general guidelines for 2026 to help you make your plans.

Renter’s Guidelines for Weddings

Contract

·         A contract will be sent upon approval of the requested date.

·         The renter will specify in the contract the contact information for the person(s) who will be the contact before and on the day of the event.

·         Contract will specify that Meerkerk is held harmless for any injuries or accidents on the day of the event.

Payments:

·         50% of fee is required to be paid upon signing of contract, balance is due 5 business days prior to the event date.

Cancellation:

Within:

30 days or more:  full refund

7-29 days:  50% refund

0-6 days:  no refund

Photography

Private photography is allowed.  Professional photographers must complete the photography permit 30 days before the event.  Please tag Meerkerk Gardens when your images are used in social media.

Supplied facilities

·         Gazebo and beautiful surrounding lawn and garden.

·         Currently, no changing area is available.

·         Porta-potties are supplied at the gazebo area and main parking lot

·         1 power outlet on gazebo, no extension cords supplied by Meerkerk

Event Planning Services

At this time, Meerkerk does not provide event planning services, but we can refer you to local providers.

Garden Access

No admission charge for access to the garden for guests.

Chairs/Tents

If chairs or a tent are required, renter can obtain these from Whidbey Event Rentals 360-836-2853. 

For morning weddings:  set up can be the afternoon on the day prior to the event and removed the day of the event.

For afternoon or evening weddings:  Set up can be on the morning of the event and removed by 5 p.m. or between 9-10 a.m. the day after the event.

Sound: 

·         No electrified bands.  Acoustic or recorded music is permitted and played at a respectful level that will not disturb other garden visitors.

·         Amplified sound for anyone speaking is permitted (supplied by renter).

Food/Drink:

Any requests for limited food/drink must be discussed in advance with the Meerkerk Wedding Planner at 360-678-1912.  An additional fee may be applied.

Renters Guidelines for memorials, engagement parties, birthday parties

All of the above wedding guidelines.

Tables:

·         If tables are requested along with up to 10 chairs there will be an additional $100 charge for setup and clean up by Meerkerk Staff.

·         Renter provides tablecloths.

·         If food or drink are brought in by renter it must be fully removed along with any garbage, and event area cleaned up by the renter. 

Meerkerk provides for all small events:

Staffing: One person to greet the contact person and be the event supervisor to supervise arrival and clean-up.

Signage

·         A directional sign will be posted at the Meerkerk entrance that says:

“Wedding Parking. Guests enter through the Gatehouse” and points to the left to the main parking lot

·         A directional sign will be posted at the Meerkerk entrance that says:

“Wedding Party/Disabled Parking” that points to the right to the volunteer parking area (note: there is parking for 10 cars for wedding party and disabled parking.

·         A sign on the Gazebo lawn that says: “Private Wedding.  Please be respectful.”
