Botany Adventure Tours are inquiry-based, guided science programs conducted at Meerkerk Gardens. Students grades K-5 from all school backgrounds learn plant growth and development through a series of 1.5 to 2 hour tours. The Gardens become an "outdoor classroom" for teachers and students.
Plants, Pollinators and You!
A springtime tour for K-5th graders.
The program features "hands-on" activities aligned with Washington State Essential Academic Learning Requirements. The common thread woven throughout is the interdependence of life on earth.
Botany Adventure tours are available beginning April 19th. Classes are scheduled for Tuesdays and Fridays, from 10:00 am to Noon. Classes may choose to start or end their tour with a picnic lunch. Group sizes range from 8 - 30 students. The fee for the garden tour is $3.00 per student.
At Meerkerk Gardens, we believe that the outdoor classroom experience is an important element in the education and well-being of children.
